Liberated Minds Organization (LMO) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing underserved entrepreneurs, of all ages, with the access, support, and knowledge to develop and maintain sustainable businesses.
Our vision is to become a national hub of resources for economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
We want our services to provide members with the appropriate tools to reduce the number of obstacles encountered by entrepreneurs. We will assist you in debt reduction planning, and budgeting for entrepreneurs as they areas are key to success.
Within a year we plan to open our business incubator tailored to providing a forum for underserved entrepreneurs looking to develop sustainable and competitive enterprises through mentoring networking events business advising and educational programs.
Our goals are to raise funds for the LMO and give aspiring entrepreneurs new platforms to crowdfund for their business. As the world is becoming more dependent on technology we work to provide tools that keep our members ahead.
After success with Chicago Public Schools, we are looking to implement our entrepreneur enrichment programs in underserved schools located in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas.
We want to engage our donor’s with specialized events to show appreciation for their commitment to our organization. Three annual events will take place for donors in Chicago & D.C. metropolitan areas.
We understand that as a growing organization we are only able to serve a small population of entrepreneurs so we are developing a virtual ecosystem that can deliver the benefits of business incubation beyond our service areas.
Founded in 2008, Liberated Minds Organization (LMO) began on the campus of Northern Illinois University as a student organization developed to support students from underserved urban communities transition to life at a Predominately White Institution. With team building, mentoring, community service and innovative programming efforts, we were able to become a premier organization for students of color from the university and surrounding community colleges.
In 2014, our organization contributors came together to discuss a plan of action for tailoring the organization to tackle more social and educational issues on a broader level. We strongly believe the only people that can save the community and rebuild are the residents and we wanted to empower them to do so.
Kevin serves as the executive director of 501 c 3, and the founder of the organization. In 2008, Kevin founded Liberated Minds Organization as a campus organization on the campus of Northern Illinois University. Upon graduating from NIU, Kevin wanted to work to build LMO past the small campus and introduce its ideas and services to a broader audience. During his pursuit to build the organization, he has acquired three collegiate degrees to help with organizational operations.
As the publicist for Liberated Minds, Necole Jackson execution of publicity for the non-profit organization assist with company goals in providing entrepreneurship for students. After graduating from North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelors in mass communications, print concentration and English minor, she currently resides in the DMV area as a media creative. Aside from working with Liberated Minds, Necole is a writer and social media strategist.
